A new update for your Adam is available. Here is the related info as per Notion Ink...
The update addresses the following issues:
GENERAL
• General and application specific stability issues addressed.
• Panel view stability improved.
• Added “Discard Update” feature.
• Downloaded update file verification on completed download.
• New dialog box added to choose network connection while updating.
• Save location of update.js modified; now stored in shared memory.
• Download of new update deletes existing update files, if any.
• Fixed crashing issue while plugging / unplugging external keyboard.
• Resolved GPS coordinate issues.
• Help files updated.
BROWSER
• Fixed tab switching focus and stability issues.
• Fixed inconsistent tab count display in case of multiple tabs fixed.
• Address bar functionality change– tapping “X” will now clear the URL present when in edit mode; else it stops the current page loading.
• Fixed issues with URLs starting with `http://’ and ‘www.’.
SETTINGS
• Resolved issues regarding “Update Adam” feature.
CANVAS
• In Text mode,
• italics for Droid Sans does not exist, so this feature has been disabled for this font.
• 1px size text was not visible; it is now fixed.
• Adam would restart an activity when keyboard is connected, this issue has been resolved.
VIDEO PLAYER
• Resolved issue where Pause and play caused video to jump 3 second.
• Tapping the home button while playing video, then tapping on the Video player icon in the quick launch panel showed blank screen; it now shows video gallery.
PANEL MANAGER
• Fixed issue with opening multiple panels for packages that require this functionality.
• Grid view visibility issue resolved.
• Resolved focus / search issues in ribbon view for apps on the home screen.
SNIFFER
• Preview of music files did not stop when played in a full app; this is now fixed.
• Refreshing of panel view made more dynamic.
MAIL’D
• Fixed issue of incorrect unread mail count in home panel notification.
CALCULATOR
• Resolved issue where back button displayed panel view while in full view

* UPDATE: I have been working with Notion Ink on testing the latest updates over the past few days and have been recording the results of some of the fixes listed above to be included in the video I am working on. I hope to have the video posted later this weekend.

Sorry for being gone. I have not had time to read or respond to comments here and on Rohan's blog. I've kind of been out of the loop all together the past week (or longer) because of work and other responsibilities...
Though I have cleared my schedule today and I hope to have the video online later today or tonight. With the release of this update (originally the update was not going to be released for a few more days) it is forcing me to work faster on my video since I have included a few video clips that show some of the fixes. So I will cut some things out that I was planning just to get it done fast.
No need to press F5 all day. It will take a long time to put it together, render it, and load on the website. I will send out an announcement on twitter when I post it later today/tonight if all goes well.

People at notioninkaddicts are saying that some are receiving pre-order emails. Apparently there was a short list and a full list. Do not know if they are trying to find replacements for canceled orders before opening up pre-orders. Mastercard is still not working.

@robert I was offered 100 invites for my best members. I believe the goal is to get Adams in the hands of experienced users so we can help people that are new to Android and the Adam. @Vedenn don't it's a bug that occurs when you erase the cache.
Great to see someone outside of NI acctually helping them test the device. Everybody just wants to see Adam sorted out and optimised so it can finally become more widely available.
On another note, I think they should make a version of leaves in portrait mode (maybe one big leaf or one smaller leaf with parts of the previous and next leaf on the sides??). I think a lot of people hate being forced to turn devices around because there is no version for portrait or vice versa.
a blow to all those people who have canceled the order, and 'the victory of NI, patience rewards at the end.
What an emotional roller coaster! At the end of it, we'd be left wondering what the whole deal was in reality, while we nurse our adrenalin withdrawal.

@andy Short list/full list was a statement from moderator of notioninkaddicts on their pre-order forum. It was not hear say. It was consistent with your statement of sending invites to your best members. My understanding was that everyone who registered on the site would receive an email to pre-order not just a select group. The other statement I made was a qualified conjecture (i.e., "I do not know"). If the rational is to send Adams to experienced modders, then this appears to consistent with the beta phase of a project and not the general release phase. Shouldn't this have already been done in, for example, EAP? I have seen numerous impressive videos with the Adam, but they have all been with rooted Adams. General consumer will probably not want to void their warranty. I have never used scam, lies, vaporware, etc. in any of my post (I am tbc on NI blog prior to requiring registration). It would be nice if Adam hit the mainstream and did not go the route of the Viewsonic G Tab, which appears to only flourish in the mod community.
@Robert maybe you don't know who I am. Im Andy from notioninkhacks.com. The pre-order invite that closed on the 22nd will include all members we submitted. However, the invites from today are special for a few select members and these orders will go out around the 15th. This was to help test the new ordering system and get Adams into the hands of people that can help support people.

Rohan is working on improving things and it now is finally starting to show. I was finding myself starting climb up on the fence,but I'm feeling a lot better. Hopefully many will be able to work for the betterment of the Notion Ink Community.

I've had the same thing with windows 7. It worked with XP.
@andysmith7 I received my invite yesterday I think it was through the NI blog.
I have a suggestion. Perhaps NIH and Notionaddicts can put a page where users can log in and check if they are on the list. That will clearup some of the restlessness some people have.
On the other hand those who are not on the list may start a flame war. Or it might cause more impatience on part of those who are on the list. All the same it would also be a test of your own list/user experience.
Just a suggestion.

Be careful about that kind of email inviting you to pay. Because of all this Adam pre-order hysteria, you are all to be aware of possible fraud taking place. Right now some people are probably speculating how to make money out of this - by making fraud.

@Andy Knew you were with notioninkhacks. Thanks for clarifying things. These types of explanations would be helpful PRIOR to the pre-order (i.e., actually two pre-orders not one). Obviously, it was out of your hands. Would also help with people from the original pre-order who have yet to receive their adams (i.e., why are these people receiving their adams when I've been waiting 2 months). Again, out of your hands. I waited out the first pre-order primarily over concerns with customer service so I am unaffected.
@Greg:
Can you please publish the names that made it into the PO-2 list from your user-base?
BTW, thank you for your help in testing the device. NI should have sent you one for testing before they released PO-1. Better late than never.

@robert I am in the same boat and do not have my Adam yet. I was one of the luck 50 and then one of the luck 5% and I run a community. Trust me I feel you there. However, these 100 are going to go out around the 14th. This is really going to help people like my A-Team get their Adams and support the community. At this point and time we have 1 A-team member out of 10 that has one. Not trying to say that we are more important than anyone else, but we are going to help thousands and that is good customer service. Also, this allowed NI to test their new sales system to ensure everything goes smoothly with the next round of orders.
While I understand the rationale behind the pre-order selections, it is incredibly frustrating to me (and lots of other people I would venture to guess), who have been following the Adam for a long time (and often!!) to still have to wait to be able to order one. I am definitely getting the PQi/Wifi only model. Adam has 2 big advantages to the competition: 1. PQi screen and 2. USB-ports.
Greg: I must ask you: Have you tried connecting a card-reader to the Adam? Does it work? (As in SD or CF cards from a camera)

I got a pre-order 2 invite - but I am already a successful pre-order 1 invitee (still waiting for shipping on the 14th) ... I don't think I can pass my invite on though - which is a shame as a bunch of others are still waiting...
